I've been hanging with surfers a little bit lately, not trying to move away from the bodyboarding scene but just more building my portfolio and networking. Had Tassie big wave surfer Marti Paradisis come hang for the last big south swell we had. Could have been glory days at a crazy slab that no one surfs, unfortunately the waves didn't want to cooperate! He got one half hearted ride before jumping on a plane home.

My only claim to surfing fame was in Hawaii. I was wandering around and stopped near a surf shop to chill out. A guy came over and sat down to talk to me, noticed I was Australian and we started talking about beaches (praised JB) and told me if I wanted any surf lessons to come and see him, he has his own school, introduced himself as Dane and we parted. I got up and walked around the corner and it big letters I found his school 'Dane Kealoha' in massive writing.
